Adam and Ash's 30th Birthday

On January 2, 2008, my two younger twin brothers Adam and Ash turned the big the 3-0!! Their wives, Sara and Joy threw them a surprise "Poker Night" party at Ross Bridge, near where Ash and Joy live. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to go down to Birmingham to celebrate, especially to see Adam and Ash's faces when we surprised them.

The trip was our first real "long" trip with Pressley and it was certainly eventful. We got off a little late (Jonas time) and hit Atlanta Friday traffic right when you don't want to - at 5:00 PM. With a couple more stops for Pressley, we got there after the surprise. It actually worked out great because when Pressley, Haley and I walked in, Adam saw us and went nuts. It took Ash a little while longer to figure it out (as usual!) and I think we really surprised them. Ash and Adam had probably 30 guys there playing craps, blackjack and poker. The high rollers ended up at the craps table as by the end of the night, $5,000 bets were a minimum. Pressley was proud that her dad walked away with $15,000 play money dollars and won a gift certificate to Moe's, mommy's new favorite place to eat (thanks Sara and Joy!).

Also, Pressley got to hang out with cousin Mallory again, Ash and Joy's daughter. Mallory is about 2 months older than Pressley so we are excited that they will be able to grow up together. They were so facinated with each other!

We had a great weekend hanging out with the Jonas side and here a couple of pics.

Pressley Is Two Months Old!

On December 30th, we celebrated Pressley being two months old. She's starting to hold that head up more and we love her big girl outfit and cap.

Hanging Out With Cole and Ainsley

Over Christmas, Pressley got to meet her cousins Cole and Ainsley Mathews. Haley's brother Gabe and his wife Ashley brought the kids over to Nana's for a couple of days and we all got to hang out.

Pressley's Visit from Santa

Pressley wasn't too interested in what Santa Claus brought her this year - so Santa took advantage! Mommy and Daddy did get Pressley to pose for a quick shot with her Christmas "booty."

Pressley's First Christmas

Christmas this year was obviously very special with it being Pressley's first. Haley, Pressley, Bailey (the big yellow dog) and I went to visit Nana, Bama and Pressley's aunt, uncle and cousins. We had a great time introducing Pressley to Nana's extended family and friends in Canton, NC. Pressley watched as her mommy and Bama duked it out on the new Playstation Wii - championship boxing. It was described as one of the highlights of the holiday watching those two go three rounds in "virtual championship boxing"....

We also got to visit with Pops and mommy's granddad and grandmother. Pressley had a great time meeting everyone on Pop's side of the family.

Here a couple of our favorite pictures of Pressley over her first Christmas. It is unbelieveable to know that our little one is not even two months old in these pictures...

Mommy and Pressley

There is nothing like seeing your two favorite girls together....

Just Chillin

Pressley's Other Favorite Pastime - Tennessee Football

Pressley has quickly become a huge Volunteer fan, just like her daddy - she wore her Tennessee outfit for every football Saturday through the SEC Championship.

Pressley's Favorite Pastime

We quickly figured out that Pressley takes after both her mom and dad - she cherishes her sleep (thankfully)!!

Daddy's Little Snuggle Bunny!

Our Girl is Here....

Pressley Haynes Jonas was born at 4:27 P.M. on Tuesday, weighing in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces and stretching 20 1/2 inches long! Pressley's most noticable characteristics were her dark hair and dark eyes, just her like her mom's!

The Day!!

Haley and I woke up early Tuesday morning, October 30th after a fairly restless night of sleep. I remember a mix of emotions ranging from extreme excitement to butterflies in the pit of your stomach nervousness. But we just keep looking at each other saying, "can you believe this?" Haley and I got to the hospital and started the inducement around 8:30 AM and by that afternoon, the "P" was here!

Pressley is Our Blessing

It is hard to imagine how quickly three months have gone. It was three months ago that I held my baby girl for the first time. It was three months ago that she looked up at me as her father for the first time. It can't be three months since we saw that first adorable yawn, can it? It has been 13 weeks since I was able to see my beautiful wife hold my prescious daughter for the first time and have an enormous pride swell up in my chest. I can still remember those feelings as if it were yesterday.

It has been challenging learning how to become a parent for the first time but so rewarding! It is pretty funny to see what Haley and I will do to get a reaction out of Pressley. And everything seems to fade away when she "talks" to us, which is pretty often these days. There is no feeling in the world like having your daughter flash a huge smile when she sees you.

I just want to take one moment to say how much Haley means to me. She has given me the honor of being my wife for eight and a half years now and unbelievably, we've been together over thirteen years. I am so grateful that she has been my companion for these years - and now, the mother to my daughter. It is amazing how blessed I am!

So here we go - a brief history of how this little girl has changed our lives forever!

Thursday, January 17, 2008

On Oct. 30, 2007 our lives were changed forever as we welcomed Pressley Haynes Jonas into the world. I am so in awe of the tiny miracle that God created just for us and am reminded everyday that God has entrusted her to our care. What a responsibility! But the greatest job in the world.
